When I left you, I was but the learner...

Tue Jun 7, 2005, 9:25 PM

My old mentor d'art, from... say... a decade back or so, has signed up on DeviantArt. I was curious to see where he'd got to, since my earliest of art was heavily derived from his.
Upon coming back into contact with him earlier this year, I was shocked to find out that he had *GASP* stopped drawing not long after I last saw him. hehe. Not that I did much better, myself having quat drawing from '98 thru to '02. That is... if... "quat" is really a word...
So anyway... I've apparently kicked him back into drawing mode and now his newer art is comparable to how I was drawing when I myself kicked back into it in late 2002.

(Apologies for the subtle Star Wars IV quote in the subject line, which actually came up in a conversation)

Thanks for bringing back to the Good Side of the Force man. :-) I'm starting humble and I hope I'll improve... I just have to keep drawing whenever I can instead of playing these infernal addictive video games all the time. Problem is, video games is what inspired me to draw in the first place, along with cartoons of the late 80s - early 90s. So it's a vicious circle, really. But thanks for inspiring me to get back into it, sometimes we all need to get a kick in the pants.
